It is safe to say there was uncertainty surrounding the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams entering the 2025 NFL season.
After all, Sam Darnold took over as Seattle's quarterback after leading the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-win season one year ago, but there were a lot of doubts regarding whether his play was a fluke or not after years of inconsistent play with the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets.
The Rams have dealt with unknowns, as well as 37-year-old QB Matthew Stafford experienced back issues in training camp. So far, that has not appeared to be an issue in one of the best seasons of his career.
Through 10 weeks of play, both teams sit at 7-2 and look like two of the better franchises in the league right now. That is why ESPN insider Dan Graziano has high hopes for the winner on Sunday.
"I think the winner of this game is the clear favorite in the NFC and possibly for the Super Bowl," Graziano said during Friday's edition of "Get Up." "Based on the way everyone's playing right now, these two teams are playing the best. And they're playing each other this week in a divisional game that's gonna tell us a lot about both of them. Seattle, I think, is being slept on a little bit. They were up 35-0 halfway through the second quarter last week. They're crushing people and they're doing it on the road, too."

Coming off a career-high completion percentage (66.2%), passing yards (4,319) and TDs (35), Darnold was simply sensational with the Vikings last season and many wondered if he could back that up in a new environment in Seattle.
He has more than accomplished that so far, improving his completion percentage to 71.1%, all while passing for 2,262 yards, 17 TDs and six interceptions, not to mention his top-ranked QBR (77.7). He even completed all 16 of his pass attempts and went 21-of-24 in a near-perfect game against the Washington Commanders in Week 9.
Injury concerns aside, the veteran Stafford has enjoyed arguably the best season of his career. While his completion percentage is slightly lower than Darnold's (67.1%), he has passed for 2,427 yards, a league-high 25 TDs and only two interceptions. In fact, New England Patriots QB Drake Maye and Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff are second to Stafford in passing TDs, but they only have 20, which speaks to the incredible season the Super Bowl LVI champion has had.
Stafford's career-high in TD passes for a season is 41, which he accomplished twice in 2011 and 2021. He is certainly on pace to surpass that and do so while taking care of the ball at an incredible rate.
The NFC West rivals have each won four in a row heading into the first of two scheduled meetings this season, and possess two of the best defenses in the league. The Seahawks rank sixth (19.1 PPG), while the Rams are even better, allowing the second-fewest points (17 PPG).
Aside from the Lions, who boast the second-most points per game (31.4 PPG), it is hard to find any other team in the NFC that is playing better than the Seahawks (+1000) and Rams (+700) at the moment, who are both in the top six on the oddsboard to win the Super Bowl, per FanDuel.
Whoever comes out of Sunday's matchup with a victory and an 8-2 record, it is hard to dispute them as the favorites in the NFC.
