Browns QB Shedeur Sanders reportedly had home broken into during NFL debut

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is the latest professional athlete to have his home burglarized, and the crime was committed at around the time he made his NFL debut.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported on Monday that Sanders' Cleveland-area home was broken into during the Browns' 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Sanders made his regular-season NFL debut in the game after starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion.

The Browns have confirmed to Front Office Sports that Sanders' home was broken into, though the team did not specify whether anything was taken. There has been no indication that anyone was injured.

Numerous professional athletes have had their homes burglarized in recent months. The NFL sent a memo to teams last season warning them about professional criminals who have been targeting athletes. The break-ins typically occur when players are competing in games, as that increases the chances that no one will be home.

Shedeur Sanders makes NFL debut against Ravens

Sanders played the entire second half for the Browns against Baltimore, and he did not have a great day. The former Colorado star completed just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. He was also sacked twice and committed an intentional grounding penalty.

Sanders acknowledged after the game that his debut did not go as he had hoped it would, but he will have a chance to bounce back in Week 12. Gabriel is in concussion protocol and Sanders is expected to start on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Browns fans have been calling for Sanders to play all season, and they are finally getting their wish. Sanders will now have an opportunity to spend a full week preparing with the first-team offense in anticipation of making the first start of his NFL career.
