The Dallas Cowboys trounced the Las Vegas Raiders, 33-16, in front of their home fans at Allegiant Stadium on Monday night.
After a slow start for the Cowboys that included a benching of their two best weapons, it was smooth sailing from that point forward, in large part thanks to wide receiver George Pickens.
He and CeeDee Lamb were watching from the sidelines during the first drive because of some "things that were missed," and that served as motivation to shred the Raiders secondary the rest of the night. Pickens was particularly good, racking up 144 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions in the win, all of which came in the first three quarters when the game was still within reach.
The star wideout's skill set was on full display throughout, routing up defenders, making contested catches and accumulating massive yards after the catch, as we’ve seen all season long.

Pickens' raw talent has always been among the best for receivers in football. Now that he has a competent quarterback and adequate targets, he’s producing like it.
The situation in Pittsburgh limited Pickens and was never going to provide him the opportunity to reach his full potential. We're now seeing DK Metcalf deal with those same struggles since taking over in his place. Going to Dallas has unquestionably been the best thing for Pickens' career, and he’s soon going to cash out because of it.
The Cowboys have to be thrilled with how the trade to acquire Pickens has turned out. A third- and fifth-round pick doesn't even come close to the value he's brought to Dallas in just over half a season.
However, it now leads to a much more difficult decision; will they be able to extend the 24-year-old after what is presumed to be a career year? His 908 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns rank second and tied for third in the NFL, respectively, so it’s time he gets compensated for it.
Predicting what Jerry Jones and company are going to do next is impossible, but it’s safe to say retaining Pickens must be a priority. He and Lamb form one of, if not the best, wide receiver duos in football, which not only makes Dak Prescott better but also opens up the run game.
Whether it’s the franchise tag or a long-term deal, Dallas has to keep Pickens because the high-flying offense is the identity of this team, and that became the case upon his arrival. Jones didn’t pay up for Micah Parsons, so he’ll have plenty of money to spend on a player who you could argue has been their MVP through 10 weeks.
