Recent reports have revealed that some Philadelphia Eagles offensive players and coaches have allegedly grown frustrated with quarterback Jalen Hurts, even though the reigning Super Bowl champions will enter the weekend before Thanksgiving at 8-2.
During a Thursday appearance on Philadelphia's SportsRadio 94WIP, Eagles legend and current ESPN personality Jason Kelce made it clear there's one way everybody involved can put the Hurts-related stories behind them.
"The bottom line is if they start having success on the field, that will fix all of this stuff," Kelce said about the 2025 Eagles, per Orlando Silva of The Big Lead. "That’s why it fixed everything towards the end of last year, and that’s why this offseason, there were no sources and unnamed things coming out."
Kelce seemingly was referencing how Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown dealt with supposed issues last season before the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX. More recently, reports surfaced claiming that some people within the Eagles "are frustrated with the quarterback situation right now," in part because Hurts has developed a reputation for "leaning on checkdowns or scrambles instead of trusting what’s open downfield."
"I bet everybody liked winning the Super Bowl," Kelce said on Thursday, as Scott Polacek shared for Bleacher Report. "I bet everybody likes winning football games."
According to Pro Football Reference, Hurts began Thursday ranked 16th in the NFL among qualified players with a 59.8 adjusted QBR and 26th with a 43.1 percent passing success rate for the season. Meanwhile, ESPN stats show that the Eagles ended Week 11 ranked 25th in the league in total yards per game (300.1) and 28th in passing yards per contest (184.9).
"I think a lot of this really just comes to production being done on the field," Kelce added. "I really believe that a lot of frustration and things and sources and all these stories start coming out when it’s not manifesting on the football field. You never know who’s saying what, what’s true, who this source is, who’s that? And every single player on that field has their own inner dialogue happening with what needs to go on for the offense to have more success, for me, individually, to have more success."
Hurts and his teammates will attempt to ignore possible distractions as the Eagles prepare to play at the Dallas Cowboys (4-5-1) this coming Sunday. As of Thursday afternoon, ESPN BET had Philadelphia as a 3.5-point road favorite for that matchup.
