Wide receivers George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb watched from the sidelines during the Dallas Cowboys' first offensive series in Monday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders for disciplinary reasons.
Both Pickens and Lamb later scored touchdowns to help Dallas secure a 33-16 victory, improving the team's record to 4-5-1. However, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones made it clear during a Friday interview on Dallas sports radio station 105.3 The Fan that repeated violations by Pickens and Lamb won't be tolerated.
"Yes, I do (have a problem with it)," Jones directly said, as shared by Sam Gillenwater of On3. "And, I don’t...have any problem with partying. But, I do want everybody to have their – when we roll in there, and we have the team meetings, we have our special teams meeting, which it usually has most of the team involved around the special teams, except the specialists, of course? But, still."
Jones was referring to Lamb's admission on Thursday that he and Pickens missed curfew on Sunday after dinner and drinks at Red Rock Casino. The two then became quarterback Dak Prescott's favorite targets at Allegiant Stadium.
Pickens led the Cowboys against the Raiders with nine receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown. Lamb added five catches for 66 yards and a score.
"The idea is this is a business trip," Jones added during his comments. "Let’s get down to business. Let’s check it all back in Dallas, and let’s get in here. See, that’s the night that they spend the night together, as you know...but it’s not quite the same routine, let’s put it like that, that it is when you’re home."
Pickens allegedly "had some punctuality issues" while with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2022-24. Perhaps most notably, he reportedly showed up late for Pittsburgh's Christmas Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs in December last year.
Pickens is in the final season of his contract and would "love to" stay with the Cowboys. Dallas reportedly could retain his rights for 2026 via the franchise tag.
Pickens and Lamb will likely be on their best behavior before the Cowboys host the rival Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) this Sunday. As of Friday afternoon, ESPN BET had Dallas as a 3.5-point underdog for that contest.
