Cade Cunningham's stellar performance leads Pistons to 12th straight win

There is no hotter team in the NBA than the Detroit Pistons.

A team that reached the postseason last year is off to a scorching hot 14-2 start and has the NBA's longest winning streak after a convincing 129-116 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Cade Cunningham's stellar performance

The nearly 130-point effort from Detroit was highlighted by a star performance from its superstar, Cade Cunningham.

Cunningham nearly posted a triple-double, as he poured in 29 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists. It was the sixth straight game that Cunningham has posted a double-double.

Even more impressive, Cunningham has posted 20-plus points in 12 of his 13 games this season.

All-around defensive effort

The most impressive part of the Pistons' current winning streak may be its effort on the defensive end. During the streak, Detroit has allowed more than 115 points just three times.

Two of those were 116 points, and the third instance was 135 points in an overtime win. After its win on Saturday, Detroit now ranks third in points allowed per game at 112.1 per game.

What lies ahead?

The upcoming schedule for Detroit consists of several tough games. Those include games against the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.

If the Pistons make it through that stretch without a loss, the winning streak could begin to approach some of the longest in the history of the NBA.
