The Los Angeles Rams cruised to a 34-7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night that improved the Rams to 9-2 and has analysts viewing Los Angeles as the NFL's best overall team ahead of Thanksgiving.
Following the win, Rams wide receiver Davante Adams suggested that quarterback Matthew Stafford should be seen as the favorite to receive at least one honor this coming February.
"He's playing like the most valuable player in the league," Adams said about Stafford, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN. "You can see it in the numbers, the way he's taking command of the huddle and the offense, the way him and [head coach Sean McVay] put things together and work throughout the week together to put together a good product for us. Just all around. I mean, he's a great leader and obviously knows how to put points on the board and keep this offense moving."
Against the Buccaneers, Stafford completed 25-of-35 passes for 273 yards with three touchdowns that he tossed in the contest's first half. Both teams seemingly went through the motions after the Rams began the third quarter holding a 31-7 lead.
As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Stafford as the betting favorite at -215 odds to claim MVP Award honors for this season. According to Pro Football Reference, he ended Sunday leading the NFL among qualified players with a 113.7 passer rating and 30 touchdown passes for the campaign. He's fifth with a 69.2 adjusted QBR, and he threw only two interceptions over his first 11 games of the season.
"Hall of Famer, MVP of the NFL this season," Rams running back Kyren Williams said about Stafford while speaking with Tyler Dragon of USA Today after Sunday's win. "The best quarterback in the world. There’s not really any other way to describe him, besides the best."
Stafford is a big reason DraftKings Sportsbook had the Rams on Monday as the betting favorites at +400 odds to win Super Bowl LX in February 2026. Also on Monday, ESPN BET had the Rams as 10-point favorites for their matchup at the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 30. 6-5 Carolina plays at the San Francisco 49ers (7-4) on Monday night.
