'He's got that look in his eye': Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer sends strong warning on CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer isn't suddenly going to stop designing plays for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb after one disappointing game.

The Cowboys stunned the Philadelphia Eagles with a 24-21 comeback win at home in Week 12, but Lamb folded in the thrilling victory for Dallas. Per Pro Football Focus, he had two drops. The former Oklahoma Sooner also caught just four passes on 11 targets.

Schottenheimer believes Lamb will rebound in the Cowboys' annual Thanksgiving game against the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. ET (CBS/Paramount+).

Brian Schottenheimer discusses why he still trusts CeeDee Lamb

"He's got that look in his eye that means business, it's the same look he had after that first game against Philadelphia," the coach told the media Tuesday. "I think I can let the cat out of the bag a bit, but there'll be plenty of balls going to 88 on Thursday afternoon."

In a 24-20 Week 1 loss to the Eagles, Lamb recorded a season-high four drops. One came on a failed fourth-down conversion late in the fourth quarter, which could've put the Cowboys deep in Philadelphia territory and given them a better chance to win.

The following week, against the New York Giants, Lamb reminded fans why he's a four-time Pro Bowler. In a 40-37 Cowboys overtime victory at home, he had nine receptions for a season-high 112 yards.

Doing the same in Dallas' matchup against Kansas City may be more challenging for Lamb. The Chiefs (6-5) rank 11th in the NFL in passing yards allowed (195.4).

However, Dallas (5-5-1) must continue to stack wins to keep its slim playoff hopes afloat. That should give Lamb even more motivation to rectify his disappointing performances against the Eagles.

Lamb may not have feasted against the Eagles this season, but he could be devouring a turkey leg during a postgame interview if he plays a key role in a Cowboys' victory over the Chiefs on Thanksgiving.
