Already enjoying a surprising hot start to the season, an extra jolt of energy will return to the Ottawa Senators lineup in the coming days. Brady Tkachuk will be back in action on Friday.
The 26-year-old left winger revealed his plans during a recent episode of his "Wingmen with Matthew and Brady Tkachuk" podcast that he co-hosts with his brother, two-time Stanley Cup champion Matthew.
With speculation swirling about when he would be back on the ice —Brady hasn't played since Oct. 13 against Nashville — Matthew asked his brother if St. Louis, the place they grew up watching their father, Keith, enjoy the best years of his playing career, would be where he rejoins his team.
"It's only fitting. Thanksgiving, just excited to be in St. Louis. Have all the boys, the trainers to mom and dads. The contact jersey is coming off. So I'm ready to take some bumps," responded Brady, who then added a "daddy's back" with a smile to add more hype to his return.

Brady's first game in well over a month will be in St. Louis on Friday when the Senators face the struggling Blues. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET.
He underwent surgery on his right thumb on Oct. 16, sparking a recovery timetable that was set for 6-8 weeks. The earliest Tkachuk was expected to be back was around Thanksgiving, and that's exactly what's going to happen.

Before his injury, Tkachuk registered three points via a trio of assists from Ottawa's season opener in Tampa Bay. He was also a +1.
The 2025-26 season marks his eighth in the NHL, all with the Senators. He's scored 191 goals and totaled 407 points in 515 games played to this point.
And while Brady hasn't been able to experience anything close to the team success Matthew has with Florida — the Panthers are coming off three straight trips to the Stanley Cup Final and back-to-back Stanley Cup victories — the Senators are very much in the thick of the Eastern Conference race this season.
Even without Brady Tkachuk for most of the season, Ottawa is currently 11-7-4 and has 26 points ahead of its Wednesday night trip to Las Vegas to battle the Golden Knights, placing the Senators in third place in the Atlantic Division.
