Giannis Antetokounmpo already has a legacy that makes him one of the greatest players in NBA history.
On Saturday, he further cemented his legendary status by reaching a major career milestone at a historic pace.
While leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets, Antetokounmpo, 30, surpassed 21,000 career regular-season points. Antetokounmpo, affectionally known as the "Great Freak" in basketball circles, became the sixth youngest player to reach 21,000 all-time points.
He scored 29 points, falling one point shy of back-to-back 30-point performances since returning after missing four games with a left calf strain, in just 19 minutes of action, doing so in an incredibly efficient manner. Antetokounmpo shot 80% from the field, connecting on 12-of-15 shots and hitting 1-of-2 from long range.

In 15 games played so far this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging an eye-popping 31.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists with a staggering 63.4% mark from the field, providing an argument to be in the conversation for his third MVP despite the struggles of his team as a whole.
Left undermanned and without much hope without him, the Bucks lost every game he sat out. Add in the three games before his absence, and Milwaukee had lost seven in a row before Saturday's win. And even after the win over the lowly Nets, the Bucks are only 9-12 on the year.
But at least on one night, Antetokounmpo was able to enjoy his personal achievement with a comfortable win.
Beyond his point total, Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee's first-round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, is a nine-time NBA All-Star, seven-time All-NBA First Team, a two-time league MVP, All-Star Game MVP, NBA champion, NBA Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
