The Orlando Magic have been on quite a roll over the past few weeks. After beginning the season 1-4, Orlando had rattled off wins in five of its previous six games headed into Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls.
It was a difficult task, but led by a masterful performance from veteran guard Desmond Bane, Orlando reeled off its sixth win in seven games with a 125-120 over Chicago.
Bane was acquired by the Magic in the offseason, and it's safe to assume the organization envisioned games like Monday when they made that move.
In the win, Bane poured in 37 points on an efficient 12-of-17 shooting night from the field. He knocked down three of his seven three-point attempts, as well as knocking down all 10 free throws he shot.
The 37 points for Bane tied a season high that he set in Orlando's previous game on Friday. Bane joined Shaq, Penny Hardaway and Tracy McGrady as just the fourth player in franchise history to score 35-plus points in consecutive games.

The six wins in seven games for Orlando have showcased exactly what the team was expected to be heading into the season. An extremely high-powered offense mixed with feisty defense to keep teams from scoring.
After their win on Monday, the Magic have seven players averaging double-figures in points. That is a major factor as to why Orlando averages 119.3 points per game, good for ninth-best in the NBA.
If the trio of Bane, Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner can still be healthy for the remainder of the season, Orlando could be a sneaky team to come out of the Eastern Conference and reach its first NBA Finals since the 2008-09 season.
