The Minnesota Vikings offense hit rock bottom in their 26-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Undrafted rookie QB Max Brosmer failed to give the team the offensive spark they needed with the struggling J.J. McCarthy out with an injury. And, after watching star wide receiver Justin Jefferson leave the locker room without talking to the media, tensions are building in the Twin Cities.
With that in mind, former NFL QB and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky believes the Vikings need to do something to appease their superstar wide receiver.
Talking on ESPN's "Get Up," Orlovsky argued that the Vikings aren't likely to trade Jefferson. However, he does believe they need to get him an upgrade at quarterback.
"The likeliest way that I think they can keep him — or at least make him happy — is Daniel Jones or Mac Jones," Orlovsky said. "That's really the future in Minnesota. I think they're going to have to bring some high-end competition in for J.J. McCarthy."

Orlovsky hasn't given up on McCarthy yet, but with the current landscape in the NFL Draft, he thinks they need to go after a proven veteran.
"The free-agent market is not going to be great; Daniel Jones will be a free agent," Orlovsky said. "...The draft is not gonna be great, and you're not drafting a kid to bring in with J.J. McCarthy..."
Jefferson had been quarterback-proof until this season. This year, however, he's posting career lows of 62 catches on 105 targets for 799 yards and two touchdowns, per Football Reference. And even if McCarthy is this team's quarterback of the future, he's clearly not ready for that role yet.
