George Pickens explains why he cannot be stopped this season

The Dallas Cowboys rolled the dice when they traded for George Pickens.

His antics and temper tantrums on and off the field were a major red flag, but the talent was clearly there.

That gamble has certainly paid off. Pickens is leading the passing game and looking like a first-time Pro Bowler.

That's why, as much as his critics argue that he's a slant specialist, he knows he's got a deep route tree to hurt defenses in multiple ways.

George Pickens flexes his route tree

“It’s kind of inevitable. It’s gonna happen regardless. Because I can beat it against 2-man, man, 3, 4, it’s a window thing," Pickens said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. "There’s nothing they can do to win. I got the go-ball, the stop route, slant. And now they’re kinda focusing on the slant and I still got the go-ball. There’s a lot of stuff.”

Pickens has been much more than a one-trick pony for Brian Schottenheimer's offense.

He carried the passing game when CeeDee Lamb was out with an injury, and both have combined to create one of the deadliest one-two punches in the game.

Through 12 games this season, he's hauled in 73 receptions on 105 targets for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns. More importantly, he's also carried himself well for the most part, and he's about to earn a very lucrative contract in the offseason.

Jerry Jones swung for the fences and hit one out of the park with this one.
