There's no denying that the college football landscape is evolving significantly. With NIL, the transfer portal and many other factors, the college game is transforming.
More evidence of the landscape shifting happened Tuesday afternoon when head coach Clark Lea and the Vanderbilt Commodores secured their first five-star recruit in program history.
Jared Curtis, a five-star quarterback from Nashville, had been verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since May. That is no longer the case, as Curtis has reportedly switched his commitment from the Bulldogs to the Commodores.
If pen hits paper on Wednesday during college football's early signing period, Curtis will head to Vanderbilt to replace Heisman Trophy favorite Diego Pavia.

Curtis' flip from Georgia to Vanderbilt marks the second consecutive season where the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the country has changed his commitment.
Last season, it was Bryce Underwood switching from LSU to Michigan. Now, Curtis has done the same and will aim to keep the Commodores relevant for the foreseeable future.
Landing the highest-ranked prospect in program history could greatly benefit Lea and Vanderbilt overall. Securing top players in the country indicates that the Commodores' 10-win season in 2025 isn't just a fluke.
The future of college football might feature a potent Vanderbilt offense that looks to compete for years to come.
