It is no secret that the Dallas Cowboys have struggled in a mighty way on the defensive side of the ball of this season.
It is also no secret that when the Detroit Lions offense gets rolling, it can be one of the best in the NFL. Something will have to give between the two sides Thursday when Dallas heads to Detroit with some unfortunate injury news.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Dallas will remain without its star cornerback Trevon Diggs. Diggs has been on IR since late October and is not quite ready to return.
There was optimism that this would be the week that Diggs would return, as he was a participant in practice each day so far this week. That will ultimately not be the case, and his return will have to wait at least one more week.
Cowboys WR George Pickens is off the injury report and good to go Thursday night vs. Detroit.

CB Trevon Diggs, who remains on IR, and OL Tyler Guyton are out.
Dallas will enter Thursday's game against Detroit with the No. 29 defense, allowing 376.2 yards per game. The Cowboys' secondary has allowed 251.5 passing yards per game, the third most this season.
It is a young and inexperienced defense that is needing its star cornerback to return. Dallas getting Diggs back at full strength will be instrumental if it has any real hopes of making a run at a postseason spot down the stretch.
It would appear likely that the Cowboys Week 15 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings will be the ideal spot for Diggs to return to action.
