Georgia lands elite in-state IOL Tyreek Jemison over Kentucky and Ole Miss

In-state recruiting is vital in college football, even for an elite program like the Georgia Bulldogs, which can pull recruits from all over the country.

That's what makes the commitment of 4-star interior offensive lineman Tyreek Jemison so big for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.

Jemison is a huge commitment, both literally and according to the rankings. He checks in at 6-foot-5, 325 pounds and is ranked as the No. 13 interior offensive line recruit in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.

He's from Dallas, Georgia, and is ranked as the No. 20 overall player from the state.

On Wednesday, the start of the early signing period, Jemison committed to Georgia over Kentucky and Ole Miss.

Dallas is just about a two-hour drive from Athens, and that proximity allowed Jemison to take three visits this fall. That included an official visit in late November.

Being around the program was all it took to help him make his decision.

“Getting around the guys, being around the staff, and feeling the love this fall was big for me choosing Georgia,” Jemison told Rivals. “Georgia is the standard in college football. What I see in Georgia is greatness — how they win, how many NFL guys they produce, how hard they play, and how much they help each other. It’s something I want to be part of. I’m not sure how anyone doesn’t want to be part of it. Georgia has a great history and tradition.”

Smart is building an elite 2026 class with multiple players already signed. Jemison is Georgia's 29th 2026 commitment.

Ultimately, he's excited about the opportunity to be a part of the UGA program, which has become elite under Smart.

“Ole Miss and Kentucky are great schools, too, but the pipeline to the NFL and the people at Georgia just make them different for me," he said. "I believe in the staff at Georgia. They can maximize my ability. With all the talent there, you have to work, and you can’t get complacent, so I welcome that. You always have to work to play at Georgia, and that’s great for me.”
