Browns' Jerry Jeudy has one regret about sideline exchange with Shedeur Sanders

While speaking with reporters on Monday, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski emphasized that he wasn't worried about the relationship between rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders and veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy after the two players were seen having what appeared to be a heated exchange on the sideline during this past Sunday's loss against the San Francisco 49ers.

On Wednesday, Jeudy met with media members and was asked if he wished he had handled that moment differently.

"Probably talk to him off camera, that's probably what I would have done differently," Jeudy responded, per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. "I'm going to speak my mind and say what I see out there, but it is what it is. It's football. Me and Shedeur good. Stuff like that happens."

Sanders was making only his second regular-season start when he missed Jeudy on a deep pass in the first quarter of the game against the 49ers. Jeudy finished the game with three receptions on four targets for 26 yards. 

"We spoke about it," Jeudy added about the sideline interaction involving Sanders. "We're good. ...It's an emotional sport. Things like that happen. It's football."

"We resolved that," Sanders said about the Jeudy matter. "We're not going to speak on that."

Sanders previously acknowledged that he is working to build chemistry with his offensive teammates after he didn't receive first-team practice reps until he became Cleveland's starter in Week 12. He completed 16-of-25 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown in the 26-8 loss to the Niners that dropped the Browns to 3-9 on the season. 

"The hardest thing in this game and right now is having trust, having trust in everybody," Sanders admitted on Wednesday. "Certain movements, certain things, it's so detailed, and that's how I play very comfortably. That's how I get in my comfort zone, that's how I get in my bag, that's how I'm able to do that. It's different because this is a different year. It's not a traditional way. It's not a traditional situation, and that's OK because it's a challenge. And I know we're going to be able to overcome the challenge. But it just expedites everything. You just go out there and take risks. It is what it is."

It's uncertain whether Stefanski will allow Sanders to take risks when Cleveland hosts the 1-11 Tennessee Titans this Sunday. With Deshaun Watson gradually approaching a possible return to the active roster, Sanders might need to perform well in multiple wins to stay at the top of the depth chart through Week 18.
