Titans' Jeffery Simmons shares huge prediction about Browns' Shedeur Sanders

Members of the Tennessee Titans trolled Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders by flashing Sanders' watch celebration on multiple occasions during Tennessee's 31-29 win in downtown Cleveland that improved the Titans to 2-11 on Sunday.

Following the victory, Titans veteran defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons shared a big prediction regarding what Sanders will be as an NFL starter.

Jeffery Simmons thinks Shedeur Sanders is a star

"He has been a competitor all his life," Simmons said about Sanders, per Turron Davenport of ESPN. "I’m a fan of his family, especially with [dad and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders]. ...I knew he was a competitor. That’s the reason you saw the pre-draft things with him and [Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward]. You know he’s a competitor. You know he's going to talk smack. I love it. I told him. We talked throughout the game. That’s his team now. He’s going to be a star in this league. He’s already a star. You enjoy when you're playing against a guy like that, who can give you lip and smack talk back. But you also have to let him know he’s still a rookie."

Sanders produced the best performance, to date, of his young career in just his third start. In total, he completed 23-of-42 passes for 364 yards with three touchdowns and one awful third-quarter interception. He also rushed for a score in the defeat.

According to CBS Sports, Sanders became the first player with 350+ passing yards and four total touchdowns in a game within his first five starts during a rookie season since the NFL-AFL merger.

Shedeur Sanders not lacking confidence amid uncertainty

There remain far more questions than answers regarding Sanders' future with the Browns. Fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel is still in Cleveland's quarterback room, and injured veteran Deshaun Watson is expected to remain with the Browns through the offseason. Additionally, Cleveland could draft an advertised top-tier quarterback prospect this coming spring.

During his postgame comments on Sunday, Sanders sounded ready for any challenge put in front of him.

"I’ve been this way," Sanders said, per the Browns' website. "So, this is God showing a lot of people who I am. You know, a lot of circumstances, will sometimes get you mentally not in your best place. And you got to find your happy place. You got to find it for you. So, I’ve been praying and doing a lot [of] talking to God this week in general, to get back to that place, to get back there. So, yeah, it’s him. He the one did it for me."

The Sanders-led Browns (3-10) next play at the Chicago Bears (9-4) on Dec. 14. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Cleveland as a seven-point underdog for that contest.
