Jaylen Brown autograph seeker slammed by security, still achieves goal

A post-game autograph session at Scotiabank Arena quickly turned ugly Sunday night when security guards physically body-slammed a fan who had dodged the barrier rope in an attempt to get an autograph from Boston Celtics power forward Jaylen Brown.

This incident happened after the Celtics beat the Toronto Raptors 121-113, with Brown leading the team with 30 points. The fans were kept at bay by ropes set up by security to prevent them from reaching the players as they left the court, but one male fan caught sight of Brown and took off running towards the railing.

The security guard went after the fan and grabbed him before knocking him hard onto the seating of the arena.

Brown, who had just finished his 13th game of the season with at least 30 points, noticed what was happening and stopped.

The Celtics player, despite the harsh treatment that his fan had just been subjected to, signed the fan’s jersey and took a quick photo with him.

Brown assumes bigger role in Tatum’s absence this season

However, the Celtics are doing things differently this season after star forward Jayson Tatum suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture in back in May. Brown has taken a prominent role in Boston, averaging career-high numbers.

It is reported that Tatum might make a comeback in March, but until then, Brown is the face of the franchise.

Brown finished with 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes of play. Derrick White also scored 27 points, while Payton Pritchard added 15 points off the bench.

Brandon Ingram led Toronto with 30 points of his own, but the Raptors have now lost their third consecutive game, all of which have been at home.

Boston will look to extend its winning streak as it travels to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

As for the fan who took a body slam from security, at least he got what he came for in the autograph and photo, thanks to Brown's willingness to make it right.
