Bubba Wallace reacts to 'monumental' settlement in NASCAR antitrust trial

Among the many reactions and statements about the NASCAR antitrust lawsuit settlement was Bubba Wallace with two words. NASCAR settled with 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports. That is a big deal for Wallace and his future as a driver at 23XI.

Teams will now have permanent charters. As part of the settlement, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports have received all three of their charters back. They have been reinstated as charter owners, meaning Bubba Wallace has a stable future in the No. 23 Toyota.

Wallace didn’t say anything major. He kept it simple. “Monumental day,” the driver posted on social media.

Monumental, indeed.

The drivers were put in a tough position through this. They have contracts that they have to fulfill, but the teams have to be able to hold up their end of the bargain as well. Not having charters moving forward was not really an option longterm. Now, with charters in tact, the teams and drivers can move forward.

While Bubba Wallace had a short run in he NASCAR Playoffs, he had a really good season overall. Of course, he became a Brickyard 400 champion, claiming the first crown jewel of his Cup Series career. For 2026, the 23 is going to look just like is always has.

Bubba Wallace watched lawsuit from sidelines, performed on track

For the drivers at 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, the 2025 season was clouded by this lawsuit. They weren’t going to say much about it, and weren’t expected to. While their bosses litigated and fought with NASCAR in the courts, they did their jobs on Sundays.

In what could be considered a down year for 23XI Racing, Bubba Wallace suck out. His win at Indianapolis was the highlight of the season for the organization. His performances early in the season at Homestead and Martinsville showed that he is a threat to win at multiple tracks on the schedule.

By the point standings, it was Wallace’s second best season only to 2023 when he finished 10th in points. Statistically, his 11th place finish this year was better as a whole than that 2023 season. The expectations will only grow for Wallace as he continues to improve.

When the lawsuit started, these drivers stuck by their teams. So, now, they will get to move forward and hopefully be rewarded for that loyalty.
