Eagles offense breaks out of slump in blowout win over Raiders

After a string of subpar offensive performances that had the Philadelphia Eagles (9-5) come into Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) on a three-game losing streak, Philadelphia's offense regained consciousness inside Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

In a 31-0 win over the hapless Raiders, Philadelphia racked up its highest point total since a 38-point performance against the New York Giants on Oct. 26.

After committing a career-high five turnovers against the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 8, quarterback Jalen Hurts was efficient on Sunday. The sixth-year QB completed 12 of his 15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, the first time his completion percentage was at 80 percent or higher since a 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 19.

Sunday was also the first time Hurts had completed 70 percent or more of his passes since the Eagles' aforementioned win over the Giants on Oct. 26.

Even backup QB Tanner McKee had an efficient afternoon, completing all three of his passes for 33 yards. Philadelphia also ran for 183 yards on Sunday afternoon, totaling 387 yards of offense. The Eagles were 10-of-13 on third down and had possession of the football for over 39 minutes on Sunday.

The Philadelphia offense needs to stay hot

As the Eagles look to clinch the NFC East and climb their way up the NFC playoff picture, more consistent offensive play is a must.

The good news for Philadelphia? It faces the reeling Washington Commanders twice over the final three games, marking two opportunities for big offensive showcases. In between its two games against Washington, Philadelphia will travel to Buffalo on Dec. 28 for a marquee matchup that should be a better litmus test of Philly's offense.
