No. 9 TCU's Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez accomplish rare feat only seen once

The ninth-ranked TCU women took care of business on Tuesday night in a 109-54 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but that was not what stood out the most as the Horned Frogs improved to 12-0 on the season.

On a night when TCU shot a ridiculous 63% from the floor, senior guard Olivia Miles and senior forward Marta Suarez led the way and accomplished something rarely seen in the history of women's college basketball.

Miles had 25 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while Suarez added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, becoming only the second pair of teammates to post a triple-double in the same game in NCAA Division-I history.

Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez have historic performance

Following her 10th rebound of the game with just over three minutes to play, Miles became the third player in the sport's history to post back-to-back-to-back triple-doubles, joining Lamar's Chastadie Barrs (2019) and Youngstown State's Danielle Carson (1985). Her nine career triple-doubles are tied for third all-time.

Suarez achieved her first career triple-double with this rebound.

If that was not impressive enough from the TCU teammates, both shot efficiently and did not take the amount of shots you would typically expect in a triple-double performance.

Miles (8-of-10 FG, 2-of-2 3PT, 7-of-8 FT) and Suarez (7-of-12 FG, 2-of-3 3PT, 4-of-4 FT) took advantage of every shot attempt and made sure to get their teammates involved as all five Horned Frogs starters scored in double-figures.

TCU extends its school-record home winning streak and the nation's longest active streak to 33 games, ahead of No. 2 Texas' 32 straight. Sure, a win over 3-6 Arkansas-Pine Bluff is not going to do anything to generate headlines by itself or add anything to TCU's resume.

However, a triple-double is difficult to achieve for one player on a team, let alone two teammates. What Miles and Suarez accomplished on Tuesday night was something rarely seen in the sport's history and should be celebrated regardless of the opponent.
