How can the Kings solve their scoring issues?

While the Los Angeles Kings are still holding a playoff spot, there are still some holes in their lineup that are keeping them from being considered a true contender.

The Kings have fallen out of the top three in the Pacific Division to holding one of the two wild-card spots in the Western Conference. A lot of that comes from the fact that they have struggled offensively. Los Angeles has dropped four games in a row, scoring six goals over that span. They sit 31st in the league in goals for, having potted just 86 goals in 33 games.

While the team, defensively, is holding its own, L.A. needs more umph on the scoring side of things to get the train rolling in the right direction, potentially going out and getting some new players to bolster the offense.

On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk discussed what the Kings need to do start putting more pucks in the back of the net.

Tyler Yaremchuk: You look at goal scoring. Joel Armia is third on their team with eight goals. It’s like, where’s Anze Kopitar? Where’s a guy like Warren Foegele, who was good for 20 last season? If I had to defend them a little bit here, there’s a couple of guys who I just think, shooting percentage-wise, are going to get going a little bit. Quinton Byfield’s shooting 5.9%. He’s only got four goals on the season. I think that’s a guy who probably finds his offense at some point and will be more of a driver than he’s been to this point….Their offense should be better than this. Kopitar should score a little more. Byfield should score a little bit more.

Carter Hutton: [Regarding the Kings going after Artemi Panarin] At his age, is he going to really fill that void? I think you’re going to get maybe one or two good years out of Panarin, if that. I think he can add some supplemental scoring, but that being said, you look at this lineup, it does get worrisome, especially depth-wise up the middle.
