The Dallas Cowboys are likely preparing to be without cornerback DaRon Bland for the rest of this regular season.
The Cowboys are 6-7-1 and currently on the outside looking in at the NFC's playoff picture, so this also means the 2025 campaign as a whole could be done for Bland.
It all centers on how the Cowboys play over the next three games (against the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders and New York Giants), but it also depends on what doctors tell Bland about his left foot.
Bland has been dealing with foot problems, and according to Todd Archer of ESPN, he could be facing surgery on his left foot for the second time in two years.
Even if he doesn't have to undergo surgery, Archer is reporting that Bland will likely end up on the IR. He is seeking a second opinion on the matter, and it's worth noting that surgery hasn't been scheduled yet.
This is a terrible development for Bland, though, who missed two games this season because of a bruise on his right foot. Last season, he missed 10 games after surgery on his fifth metatarsal on his left foot.
Cornerback DaRon Bland is facing surgery on his left foot for the second time in as many years, according to multiple sources. Bland is seeking a second opinion. No surgery has been scheduled yet. Even w/o surgery, he is likely going to end up on injured reserve w/ 3 games left.

Bland has played in 12 games this season, and he's notched 73 tackles, six passes defended and one interception (which was taken back to the house for six).

He's been one of the NFL's elite corners since the Cowboys selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Fresno State, but injuries have impacted him these past two seasons.
In 2023, Bland notched nine interceptions, including five pick-sixes, which was an NFL record.
The Cowboys gave him a four-year, $92 million extension this past fall, which included a $22 million signing bonus.
