Seahawks' Ernest Jones IV rips 'disrespectful' Rams after dramatic 'TNF' win

The Seattle Seahawks erased a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit en route to earning a thrilling 38-37 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams that improved Seattle to 12-3 and resulted in the Seahawks grabbing sole possession of the NFC's No. 1 playoff seed on Thursday night.

Shortly after Thursday's contest wrapped up, Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV made it known during his on-field postgame interview that he and his teammates realized some Rams players were taking victory laps when they were up by 16 points.

Rams thought the game was over?

"They went to laughing in our face, and they thought this s--- was over with," Jones explained, per Kyle Koster of Sports Illustrated. "...They thought it was over with. But around here we play until the last snap, last whistle."

The Seahawks ultimately scored the final 16 points of the quarter thanks to a Rashid Shaheed 58-yard punt return for a touchdown, a Sam Darnold touchdown pass to tight end AJ Barner, and a replay review of a wild two-point conversion attempt. Darnold and Co. then rewarded head coach Mike Macdonald for his decision to play for the win in overtime when the signal-caller hit tight end Eric Saubert for a walkoff two-point conversion.

Rams were "disrespectful" to the Seahawks

"It's disrespectful as a defense," Jones said about the Rams' antics on Thursday night during his postgame news conference. "Disrespectful to the game. There's too much time left on the clock for you to be thinking it's over. I won't put any names on it, but they know, and we won."

According to the Seahawks' website, Jones added that the Rams "were saying stuff" while up by 16.

"I won't repeat what they were saying because it's not really good, but they were talking," Jones continued.

The Seahawks lead the 11-4 Rams in the NFC West and conference standings. Seattle will next play at the 7-7 Carolina Panthers on Dec. 28.

"We'll celebrate it today and tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure most guys, once Sunday rolls around, there's a new schedule of football, it's over with. We're ready to go play the Panthers," Jones said about how the Seahawks will react following Thursday's result.
