Jets defense still has one of NFL's most shocking stats

The New York Jets lost to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, 29-6, continuing what has been another miserable season. It was also another ugly game for their defense as they allowed rookie quarterback Tyler Shough to pass for 308 yards, while giving up another 38-yard touchdown pass to Chris Olave.

That is somehow not even the most staggering part of this all.

Jets defense still has one of NFL's most unbelievable statistics this season

Not only did the Jets have no answer for whatever the Saints wanted to do on offense, but they also did not intercept any of the 50 passes the Saints attempted in the game.

That means the Jets defense has still not intercepted a single pass during the 2025 season. None. Zero. Not a single pass. They are the only team in football that has not recorded at least one interception this season, while every other team in the league has recorded at least five of them.

What makes the statistic even more staggering is that former defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys just before the NFL Trade Deadline, has intercepted a pass since leaving New York.

That means their former defensive lineman has more interceptions this season than their entire defense. Combined.

The Jets have also recovered only three fumbles this season for their only takeaways. It is hard to win when your defense can not get stops or create takeaways. That explains in large part why the Jets have just three wins this season.
