The Jacksonville Jaguars are cementing themselves as a legit Super Bowl contender amid their six-game winning streak. The latest victory came dominantly against the AFC-leading Denver Broncos.
The 34-20 win saw quarterback Trevor Lawrence join some exclusive company as he continues to find his rhythm under head coach Liam Coen.
Lawrence placed a lot of pressure on his shoulder when he signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension in the summer of 2024. But the 26-year-old is now living up to that hefty contract, leading the 11-4 Jaguars to the top of the AFC South.
The 2021 No. 1 overall pick excelled against an elite Broncos defense at Empower Field at Mile High, completing 23-of-36 passes for 279 yards. Showcasing his dual-threat ability, Lawrence also found the end zone on the ground, scoring four total touchdowns.

The Jaguars leader under center has put himself in some rare company with Sunday's performance. NFL.com senior researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming broke down the historic implications of Lawrence's recent production.
"Lawrence has totaled 10 touchdowns (eight passing, two rushing) and has avoided turning the ball over," Koplowitz-Fleming assessed. "The only other players in NFL history with 10 touchdowns and zero turnovers in any two-game span in a season are Lawrence, (Josh) Allen (2024 MVP season), Drew Brees (2019), and Patrick Mahomes (2018 MVP season)."
The Jaguars will subsequently need their star quarterback to stay in MVP form to stay atop the AFC South. The only franchise with a longer winning streak than Liam Coen's team is the division-rival Houston Texans, who have now won seven straight and are sitting just a game back at 10-5.
Lawrence and company will now look forward to a road clash with the desperate Indianapolis Colts before closing out the season against the Tennessee Titans. The 2025 Jaguars ultimately have a chance to post their best record of the 21st century and the second-most wins in franchise history. There's a lot at stake over these next few weeks, but Lawrence's Week 16 performance has earned him and his team a lot of new believers.
