Ravens' concerning Lamar Jackson injury update for Packers game could spell doom

The Baltimore Ravens need to win on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers to even have a chance of making the playoffs. They may have to play that game without superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson listed as "doubtful" for Saturday's game

Jackson did not practice for the Ravens on Thursday and has not practiced all week. His official injury designation for Saturday's game is "doubtful," meaning it is more likely that he will miss the game than play.

Jackson was injured in Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots when he took a knee to the back. He left the game at halftime and did not return as the Ravens fell to the Patriots, putting them in their must-win situation.

For Baltimore to make the playoffs, it needs win its remaining two games, while also needing a Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Steelers and Ravens play each other in Week 18 to close the regular season.

If the Ravens lose on Saturday, or if they win combined with a Steelers win, the Steelers will clinch the AFC North before that game.

Jackson has missed significant time in recent seasons due to injury, including the 2025 season where he has already missed three-and-a-half games. The Ravens are 1-2 in the games he did not start, and they did not win Sunday's game when he exited at halftime.

If he does not start on Saturday, backup Tyler Huntley would get the start.

Since the start of the 2018 season, the Ravens are just 8-16 when Jackson does not start.

The Packers have their own quarterback concerns for Saturday's game with both Jordan Love and Malik Willis being questionable after they were injured against the Chicago Bears a week ago. Both quarterbacks have been limited in practice this week, but the Packers have not added another veteran quarterback to the roster. That should be a good indication they believe at least one of them to be available for Saturday's game.
