The Texas Longhorns offense around Arch Manning stands to look a lot different next season.

Running back Quintrevion Wisner, Texas’ leading rusher in 2025, plans to enter the transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports. Wisner will be a senior next season.

Wisner was a 1,000-yard rusher in 2024, but saw his numbers slip in 2025. Despite that, he was still the Longhorns’ leading rusher with 597 yards and three touchdowns on 131 carries. He also had 146 receiving yards and a touchdown through the air.

Texas will need to restock its backfield before next season. CJ Baxter, the No. 2 running back on the roster, also plans to enter the transfer portal. Redshirt freshman Christian Clark and true freshman James Simon are poised to be the only available backs on the roster for their Dec. 31 Citrus Bowl matchup with the Michigan Wolverines. That will obviously need to be addressed for 2026.

The Longhorns will have championship ambitions in 2026. Fortunately, Manning has made a fairly unselfish move that might make it easier for Texas to bring in a quality player at the running back position.
