Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse carved out some time to showboat on his way to a game-changing touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons.
Verse broke through the Falcons’ O-line for a clean block on Zane Gonzalez’s 37-yard field goal attempt. The Rams star picked the ball up cleanly and ran it all the way back for a touchdown.
Verse took his sweet time doing it. He slowed down a bit to flash a peace sign toward the Falcons’ sideline at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.

Verse’s feat was definitely worthy of celebration. He became the first Rams player in nearly 40 years to return a blocked punt for a field goal. LeRoy Irvin was the last player to do it during a Week 2 contest in 1986 — a 640-game gap between the two plays.
The touchdown also chopped down the Falcons’ lead to 24-17 after the Rams trailed 21-0 at halftime. Matthew Stafford and the Rams got the meme treatment through two quarters, but turned things around late to make the “Monday Night Football” matchup competitive.
