Trevor Lawrence makes history as Jaguars complete remarkable turnaround with AFC South title

The Jacksonville Jaguars locked up their second AFC South title in the last four seasons with a commanding 41-7 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The win is Jacksonville's eighth straight to end the regular season. At the time of the win, the Jaguars (13-4) are the AFC's No. 3 seed, but the No. 1 seed is still not out of the question if the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots lose to the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins, respectively.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been the focal point of Jacksonville's turnaround under first-year coach Liam Coen. Sunday was no different after putting together a dominant first-half performance to put the game out of reach and set a new franchise record in the process.

After going 22-of-30 for 255 yards and three TDs, Lawrence set the single-season franchise record for total TDs (38).

This five-yard TD pass to tight end Quintin Morris punctuated a three-TD first half from Lawrence and officially set the new franchise mark.

According to NFL Plus, the Jaguars join the 2025 Patriots and 1999 Indianapolis Colts as the only teams in NFL history to win 13 games one season after losing 13 or more games.

Since Lawrence threw three interceptions in an overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 23, he has accounted for 19 total TDs and only one interception, helping the Jaguars complete a remarkable turnaround.

This also comes after Lawrence made league history in a Week 15 rout of the New York Jets. It is not like the Jaguars have had an easy schedule down the stretch either, with wins over the Chargers and Broncos.

It also helps when you have one of the most efficient kickers in the league, Cam Little, who booted the longest outdoor field goal (67 yards) in league history.

The Jaguars look like a team you do not want to face in the postseason right now. If Lawrence continues to play at this rate and protect the football - something he has struggled with in his NFL career - Jacksonville may only be getting started.
