After Auburn managed to cough a 16-point second half lead against Texas A&M on Tuesday, the Tigers roared back in the final minutes to give themselves a chance.
The Tigers trailed two with 0.6 seconds to go and had a chance to try to inbound the ball to someone in order to at least get off a game-winning shot.
KeShawn Murphy appeared to have nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer that sent Neville Arena into a frenzy.
But after review, it was determined that the shot did not leave Murphy's fingertips in time, giving A&M a 90-88 win.

The officials wave it off.

The decision was made after Auburn had already celebrated on the floor twice.
Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan did his postgame interview with the SEC Network with a raucous Auburn crowd behind him loudly expressing their displeasure with the officials.
"I can barely hear in here," McMillan said.

Tuesday's game may turn out to be a very consequential one in the grand scheme of the season.
Auburn (9-6, 0-2 SEC play) is behind the eight ball under first-year head coach Steven Pearl, and things won't get any easier when No. 15 Arkansas comes to town on Jan. 10.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M is now 12-3 and 2-0 in SEC play. The Aggies will host Oklahoma on Jan. 10 in a golden opportunity to get to 3-0 in conference play.
