Victor Wembanyama stunningly shows off his karate skills during game

Victor Wembanyama is giving a new definition to the phrase “high kick.”

The San Antonio Spurs big man Wembanyama went viral during Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies for a very unusual feat of athletic prowess. During warmups at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., several basketballs became lodged in the basket that the Spurs were shooting at.

But in came Wembanyama to save the day. The 7-foot-4 center spontaneously decided to leap up and deliver a flying kick at the net, successfully dislodging one of the stuck basketballs.

Here is the video.

Part of what makes Wembanyama such a generational talent is his agility as well as his body control for a player of his immense size. Apparently, proficiency in the martial arts comes with that entire package too.

But perhaps this is not all that surprising for the 22-year-old Wembanyama, who made his return to the lineup on Tuesday after missing a couple of games due to a hyperextended knee. After all, Wembanyama did notably train with a group of Shaolin monks over the offseason, possibly picking up a trick or two from them along the way.
