A former Formula 1 driver has expressed interest in one day running a NASCAR road course race.
Per SportsCar 365 , former F1 driver Logan Sargeant said that competing in a NASCAR race is "on his bucket list... which could be made possible in the future" given his new role with the Ford Motor Company.
Sargeant was recently announced as a Ford FIA Endurance Championship Hypercar driver. The 25-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has 36 F1 starts to his credit and will be competing in the 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 24-25.
Sargeant would not be the first member of his family to compete in NASCAR if he were to one day make a start.

His brother Dalton Sargeant made 22 starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, including 16 in 2018. During that 2018 season, Dalton Sargeant had four top-10 finishes and led 33 laps.
Logan Sargeant would also be far from the first F1 driver to venture into NASCAR. Over the past two decades, the likes of Jensen Button, Kimi Raikkonnen, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jacques Villeneuve have competed in NASCAR events.
If Sargeant is truly open to running a Cup Series road course race, it's hard to imagine that Ford would have much difficulty putting together a seat for one weekend.
