After a slow start to the 2025-26 season, defending national champion No. 16 Florida has found its groove.
On Tuesday, the Gators (14-5, 5-1 SEC) won their fifth straight game with a blowout win over LSU (13-6, 1-5 SEC) in Gainesville.
After losing to Missouri to start SEC play, Florida has beaten No. 21 Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, No. 15 Vanderbilt and LSU to get to 5-1 in conference play.
The Gators were led by another balanced effort. Urban Klavzar led UF with 18 points, while Rueben Chinyelu (15 points), Boogie Fland (10 points) and Alex Condon (10 points) also got into double figures.
Meanwhile, the Tigers struggled again offensively on Tuesday. LSU shot 27 percent from three and just 67 percent from the foul line in the loss. Mike Nwoko led LSU in scoring with 17 points.
Florida is undoubtedly the hottest team in the SEC as teams get into the thick of conference play, and the Gators are finally looking like the defending national champions and a squad that could repeat in March.
The Gators will get to stay home this weekend when they host Auburn on Saturday. A win over the Tigers would put Florida solidly atop the SEC at 6-1 in conference play.
