Rams' Kamren Kinchens shares why Seahawks are his favorite opponent ahead of NFC Championship

For the third time since the middle of November, the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams will face off this coming Sunday.

Of course, the winner of the NFC Championship Game featuring the two rival clubs will clinch a trip to Super Bowl LX. Rams safety Kamren Kinchens may have given Seattle players some bulletin-board material when he was recently asked if the Seahawks are his favorite team to play against.

Rams hope to be tested by Seahawks' Sam Darnold early and often in NFC title game

"Yes," Kinchens responded, per Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. "Because they like to test the secondary. They have good receivers and (quarterback) Sam Darnold wants to throw the ball down the field and push it down the field. That’s a lot of opportunities, and I love when I get to show people my receiver skills."

Back in Week 11 of this season, Darnold tossed four interceptions during the Rams' 21-19 win over the Seahawks. In Week 16, Darnold helped Seattle erase a 16-point deficit and earn a thrilling 38-37 overtime win over Los Angeles. That said, the Rams intercepted Darnold twice on Dec. 18.

"Usually, you hope a guy doesn’t make the same mistake twice," Kinchens said about Darnold. "In my case, I’m hoping he makes the same mistake twice, because that’s more picks for me."

Rams' Jared Verse sends warning to Seahawks' Sam Darnold

While playing for the Minnesota Vikings in January 2025, Darnold lost 82 yards on nine sacks, had a second-quarter fumble returned for a touchdown and threw an interception in Minnesota's wild-card playoff loss to the Rams. Los Angeles edge-rusher Jared Verse has warned that Darnold "knows that we’re coming" at Seattle's Lumen Field this Sunday.

"He knows that he’s going to feel us," Verse continued, "and that makes any quarterback cautious, no matter who you are."

As of Friday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook continued to list the Rams as 2.5-point road underdogs against the Seahawks. Verse and Co. seem to believe they will notch an upset win against their rivals as long as they can once again cause Darnold to see "ghosts."
