Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mom causes a stir with her Facebook post

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mother may be hoping for her son to end up with one particular team.

The bombshell news broke on Wednesday that the Milwaukee Bucks star Antetokounmpo has informed the team that he is ready to be traded. A trade could even potentially happen before the Feb. 5 NBA deadline with the Bucks now said to be listening to aggressive offers from rival teams.

In a curiously-timed post later in the day on Wednesday, Antetokounmpo’s mother Veronica took to Facebook to share an old photo of her son. In the photo, a younger Antetokounmpo was posing with two other individuals … while in the home arena of the Miami Heat.

A large “HEAT” logo was also visible on the court where Antetokounmpo was standing. Take a look.

Veronica, a former high jumper in Nigeria, is the mother to Giannis and his four siblings. Meanwhile, the photo that Veronica posted of Giannis was clearly from some years ago and raises the question as to why she decided to share it now of all times.

A new report has since revealed when exactly the former NBA MVP Antetokounmpo lost patience with the Bucks. The Heat, meanwhile, have been linked to Antetokounmpo in trade rumors for nearly two months now and are now once again being viewed as a frontrunner for his services. That is due to the competitive return that Miami can offer to Milwaukee in any trade and due to the fact Antetokounmpo currently shares an agent (Alex Saratsis of Octagon) with Heat star Bam Adebayo.
