As the 2026 Australian Open has come to a close, there will be quite a few big moves around the WTA top 100 once new rankings are officially released on Monday. Here are some of the biggest movers ahead of the WTA Tour Middle Eastern swing.

Biggest Movers in the WTA top 100 This Week – Week 4

Moving Up

Elena Rybakina: +2: world #5 -> world #3

The 2026 Australian Open champion isn’t making too many massive ranking leaps, but her victory on Saturday will bring her back to her career-high ranking of 3. She only dropped one set during the entire tournament, against Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final.

Peyton Stearns: +18: world #68 -> world #50

Stearns reached the third round of the Australian Open and steadily improved her ranking to the top 50 mark. Stearns ran into a strong Amanda Anisimova in her Melbourne defeat, as the next challenge for the young American will be beating the big names; she’s just 2-13 against top 10 opponents.

Zeynep Sonmez: +33: world #112 -> world #79

Sonmez was a crowd favorite at the Australian Open this year. Her big run to the third round means she’s only 10 spots away from her career-high ranking. Ultimately, the Turkish No. 1 won three qualifying matches during the tournament and later upset Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Moving Down

Madison Keys: -6: world #9 -> world #15

She certainly wasn’t the favorite to repeat in Melbourne, but it was a disappointing Australian Open title defense for Keys. After a couple of steady matches, the American ran into a consistent Jessica Pegula and ran out of steam in the Melbourne heat. Keys is now ranked outside the top 10 for the first time since early 2025.

Dayana Yastremska: -15: world #28 -> world #43

Costly unforced errors meant that Yastremska crumbled out of the Australian Open first round. The Ukrainian hit just 12 winners paired with 33 unforced errors against Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Yastremska will have opportunities to pick up some ranking points over the coming months but may need to with plenty of points to defend loom during the grass season.

Paula Badosa: -39: world #26 -> world #65

The 2025 Australian Open semifinalist, Badosa, was one of the biggest ranking drops of the fortnight. Badosa had upset Coco Gauff and other names en route to a deep run last year, but a quick loss to Oksana Selekhmeteva in the second round plunged Badosa’s ranking to just outside the top 60. The Spaniard will have ranking points to pick up during the clay court season, which she largely missed last year due to injury.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova: -53: world #47 -> world #100

The biggest ranking drop in the WTA 100 goes to Pavlyuchenkova, the 34-year-old who was defending quarterfinalist points from last year’s tournament. Pavlyuchenkova lost in a thrilling final-set tiebreak against Zhuoxuan Bai in a costly first-round exit.
