Giannis Antetokounmpo is still a Milwaukee Buck, at least for now. The trade deadline is just days away, and several teams are trying to change that.
The New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves have all been connected to Antetokounmpo, but none have made an offer that gets Milwaukee's attention.
If the Bucks were ready to deal him right now, it probably would've leaked already. What seems more likely is that those four teams will need to bring other organizations into the mix to make the money work.
There's another issue brewing too. ESPN's Shams Charania reported some tension between Giannis and the Bucks over how the rest of the season is getting handled.
"The teams interested in Giannis, that are making these aggressive pushes like Miami, New York, Golden State, and Minnesota. They're waiting for Milwaukee to really get to the point where they're on the brink, where they're really making these counteroffers, like, 'we're a piece or two or three away, and let's potentially get this deal done.' So these conversations will continue as we get closer to Wednesday and Thursday."
"The Bucks are at a tipping point, though. There's a conflict. They're in a position now where they're playing more and more for a draft pick the second half of the season. Giannis wants to play for a championship. He wants to play in the second half of the year. So, there's a conflict of agendas with where both of these sides are going."
Shams says the Bucks and Giannis are at a conflict on the 2nd half of the NBA season:

Milwaukee dropped another game Sunday night, getting blown out by the Boston Celtics for their fifth straight loss. That pushed them to 18-29 and 12th in the Eastern Conference.
With the season going sideways, league sources say the Bucks are getting ready for the chance they might actually trade their franchise player.
The price tag isn't cheap. Milwaukee wants either a young star or a loaded draft pick package in return. Giannis has been honest with the organization for months now, saying he believes it's time to move on after spending more than 12 years there.
He's appeared in 30 games this season, putting up 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 64.5 percent from the field. Giannis is dealing with a right calf injury right now and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
