Giants' Jaxson Dart has one-word response about comparisons to Patriots ahead of Super Bowl

The New England Patriots bringing head coach/former player Mike Vrabel and longtime offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels back to the organization last offseason proved to do wonders for quarterback Drake Maye, who is now a win away from becoming a Super Bowl champion.

One couldn't blame excited New York Giants fans for hoping that signal-caller and 2025 first-round draft choice Jaxson Dart will enjoy a leap similar to Maye's while working with recently hired head coach John Harbaugh later this year. During a chat with Elizabeth Fania of Sports Illustrated, Dart was asked if he believes the 2026 Giants can follow in the footsteps of the 2025 Patriots.

Jaxson Dart not lacking confidence early into first full offseason with Giants

"Absolutely," Dart responded. "If you go into any season with the highest accomplishment not on your mind of chasing the Super Bowl, winning a Super Bowl, I think that you've already lost a season. So, I'm not looking to rebuild. I'm not looking for a process of years to come. I'm ready to go right now, and I know the guys are feeling that same way. This organization these last several years have been in some hard seasons. And everybody's just starving to win."

It's no secret that Harbaugh, who guided the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl championship while serving as their head coach from 2008 through this season, is excited about having Dart as his new QB1. Like Baltimore star and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, Dart is a dual-threat quarterback known for torching opposing defenses with his legs.

"When you have a coach who has confidence in you and believes in you, as players, that makes us play better because you know that your coach has that confidence and that belief that in any given moment they're going to pick their guy over anybody else's," Dart said about his growing relationship with Harbaugh. "I think from a player's standpoint, he's a coach that I've picked over any other coach, and I'm excited for him and for us as a team."

Jaxson Dart says Giants are ready to pursue more than just a playoff berth

Things haven't gone quite as planned for Harbaugh since he accepted the Giants' job. First-choice offensive coordinator Todd Monken became the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, while Big Blue OC candidate Davis Webb accepted a promotion to remain with the Denver Broncos.

Nevertheless, Dart still has a massive goal in mind as he prepares to watch Maye face the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8.

"Our team's ready to go chase the big one, right now," Dart told Fania.
