The Cincinnati Bengals may have a budding two-way star on their roster, and his name is Ja’Marr Chase.
The superstar wide receiver showed off his defensive instincts Tuesday during the Pro Bowl Games’ flag football contest at the NFL Flag Fieldhouse in San Francisco, Calif. NFC quarterback Jared Goff was his victim.
Goff had the NFC squad a few yards shy of the end zone with a chance to extend his team’s lead to 21-10 with a touchdown. He tried to find Bijan Robinson on a short throw, but Chase was there to make the one-handed interception.
The Bengals star took it all the way back for an AFC pick-six. He backflipped his way into the end zone for some added flare.

Chase scooped that pass up as if he were the intended receiver.
Here’s another angle of Chase’s awesome defensive play.

It’s no surprise that Chase can make some unreal grabs, even with one hand. The wideout has earned first-team All-Pro nods in each of the last two seasons. The man knows how to catch the pigskin with the best of them.
While his receiving abilities helped him make the grab, Chase showed that he also has some sharp defensive instincts to match, at least on the flag football field.
However, it’s hard to put much stock in what players can do in an exhibition game that made Joe Burrow look like Lamar Jackson with his legs.
