Balanced attack gives Hornets first eight-game winning streak since 1999

The last time the Charlotte Hornets won eight games in a row, a majority of its roster was not alive to see it. It was all the way back in 1999, well before most of the team had even touched a basketball.

That all changed Thursday as Charlotte rolled the Houston Rockets to the tune of a 109-99 victory. Houston dropped its second consecutive game with the loss.

The blowout win for the Hornets on Thursday night was headlined by an extremely balanced scoring attack. Charlotte had five players finish with double digits in points, headlined by 24 from rookie sensation Kon Knueppel.

How the Hornets got it done on Thursday

LaMelo Ball (20 points), Miles Bridges (18), Josh Green (14) and Brandon Miller (11) were the other four members in double digits. Miller had an unusually low scoring outing due to being in foul trouble for most of the game.

The starting five continues to roll

Charlotte's starting five of Ball, Miller, Knueppel, Bridges and Moussa Diabate improved to 14-1 after the win Thursday night. Diabate contributed just seven points, but his seven offensive rebounds played a major role in the Hornets 34 points in the paint.

The starting five continues to play some of the best basketball of any five-man rotation in the NBA this season.

The Hornets should only get better with time

Charlotte made a surprising acquisition prior to the NBA trade deadline when it acquired Coby White. White's 18.9 points per game this season has the potential to be a welcome addition off the bench for the Hornets.

If White is able to continue to score at an extremely high clip, there is no denying that the Hornets and their high-powered offense will be one of the most dangerous in the league when the playoffs begin.
