A Minnesota Timberwolves player not named Anthony Edwards went off on Wednesday night.
Julius Randle demonstrated the potential for Minnesota to win big even without Edwards having to carry the load in a 133-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Randle was actually on top of his game so much that Edwards only had to put up 14 points in a game the Timberwolves won by 24.
With 41 total points in the game, Randle exploded for most of his production in the second half, with 31 points after halftime.
He actually became only the ninth Timberwolves player to ever score at least 30 second-half points in a game, joining the likes of Edwards, who has done it twice this season, Karl Anthony-Towns, Kevin Love, Mo Williams, Derrick Rose, Sam Cassell, Chauncey Billups and Ricky Davis.
23 points in Q4.

Randle's dominant performance was an efficient one, too. He shot 58.3% from the field, connecting on 14-of-24 shots, in 33 minutes against Portland. His 41-point night marked a new season-high and his first game with over 40 points on the season.
Randle has now exceeded 30 points eight times. He also came close to a double-double with rebounds and a pair of assists.
Now averaging 22.3 points, 7.0 boards and 5.4 assists while shooting 49.2% from the field in 56 games, Randle is in the midst of one of the best seasons of his career. He totaled 18.7 points per game in 69 games in his first year with the Timberwolves during the 2024-25 campaign.
But despite his strong play, Randle did not make his fourth All-Star team this season.
Thanks to Randle, the Wolves are 34-22, which has them in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
