Chase Elliott won Duel 2 at Daytona International Speedway and will start fourth in Sunday's Daytona 500.
The win is Elliott's third in a duel race and will put him alongside Duel 1 winner Joey Logano on the second row of the starting grid on Sunday.
"That was a great way to get the blood pumping for sure on a Thursday night," Elliott told Fox Sports. "It was a lot of fun. Had some great support there. Carson did a great job helping me control those lanes. Certainly owe him appreciation for sticking with it and pushing me well."
Carson Hocevar waited until the final hundred feet to try and make a move on Elliott and came up shy by 0.06 seconds. The top 10 in Duels 1 and 2 each received championship points, starting with 10 for the race winner and moving down.
Of the three open drivers — Anthony Alfredo, BJ McLeod and JJ Yeley — Alfredo finished the highest and earned a spot in Sunday's Daytona 500, finishing 18th. McLeod and Yeley finished 19th and 22nd, respectively.
"I mean, to do this for the third time is pretty cool," Alfredo told Fox Sports. "You never know when you'll get another shot to race on any Sunday."
Hocevar, Kyle Larson, Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell rounded out the top-five, with Josh Berry, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Todd Gilliland, Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin completing the top 10.
Other notable results include Tyler Reddick in 12th, Connor Zilisch in 15th, Austin Cindric in 17th, Chase Briscoe in 20th and Justin Allgaier in 21st.
There is one Daytona 500 practice session each on Friday and Saturday before the green flag flies for Sunday's Daytona 500.
