Snoop Dogg’s popular presence at the Winter Olympics apparently caused some trouble on Wednesday.
The rapper attended the 1000m speed skating competition at the Milano Speed Skating Stadium in Milan, Italy on Wednesday, but his security allegedly clashed with Dutch speed skating icon Marianne Timmer while he was leaving the venue. Timmer, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, was doing media work for Dutch media, and she claimed the rapper’s security shoved her up against a wall.
“I was standing against a wall, and one of the security guards pushed me even closer. I said, ‘Just act normal.’ It’s a really wide hall, about four meters. But then the guy came back, and I said, ‘What? Do I have to go through that wall or something?'” Timmer told Dutch outlet Sportnieuws, via Denny Alfonso of The Athletic.
Snoop Dogg is in Italy as an honorary coach for Team USA and a special commentator for NBC. He has fulfilled the same role previously and apparently got a lot of money to do it.
The rapper is known to be a huge sports fan and has parlayed that into some television appearances in recent years. While he is popular at the Olympics, his security detail seemingly is not.
