Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Las Vegas Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby discussed a variety of topics during the latest edition of the podcast hosted by Crosby.
According to NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, one part of that chat is "making waves" amid reports related to Crosby's uncertain future.
"Just to be open and honest, bro, like we talked about earlier, but respect at a different level, bro," Crosby told Williams. "You’re one of those guys, for sure, and you’re just getting started. I don’t even know you understand yet how good you can be, and that’s the scariest part. You know what I mean? Just keep that mindset, keep doing what you’re doing. You know we’re locked in forever. So keep doing your thing, bro. You need me, hit me at any time. It goes vice versa."
Crosby has been the subject of renewed trade rumors ever since it was revealed that he was "not happy" about being shut down before the end of the 2025 season because of a lingering knee injury. A previous report claimed that Crosby told Raiders minority owner Tom Brady that he would "never play for" Las Vegas again, but a more recent update shared that the Raiders haven't given up hope that the 28-year-old may be willing to give recently hired head coach Klint Kubiak a chance.
Under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, Williams recorded seven comeback wins after trailing in the fourth quarter of games from Week 1 of the 2025 season through the Bears' 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round of the playoffs on Jan. 18. Meanwhile, Crosby has had more head coaches (six including Kubiak) than playoff appearances (one) since the conclusion of the 2019 NFL Draft.
"What’s gotten you to this point is being Superman, and what’s gotten me to my level of wrecking games is I feel like I’m Superman," Crosby told Williams during the podcast, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Crosby added that he, like Williams, is "a different cat."
Crosby may want to share a locker room with Williams, but the Raiders could play hardball and ask a team such as the Bears to match a "'Godfather' offer" price for the defensive star. After all, Crosby signed a three-year, $106.5M contract extension last offseason.
Nevertheless, it sounds like some within the league believe Crosby could have eyes for the Bears as the start of the new league year (March 11) approaches.
