Hilary Knight proposes to girlfriend Brittany Bowe at Olympics

Hilary Knight made the 2026 Winter Olympics one to remember for her and Brittany Bowe.

Knight, who is the captain of the US women’s hockey team, proposed to girlfriend Bowe, who is a speedskater.

“Olympics brought us together. This one made us forever,” Knight wrote as the caption to the video of her proposal she shared on Instagram.

The two Olympians first met at the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. They grew closer in 2022, when their romance blossomed.

“She asked if I wanted to go on a walk,” Bowe recalled of her interaction with Knight at the 2022 Beijing Games. “That became our routine. We’d walk the [Olympic] Village after dinner and just talk. It was cool living in a bubble and not having outside distractions.”

Knight, 36, played college hockey at Wisconsin. She has represented the US in international competitions since 2007. She has won a gold medal and three silver medals at the Olympics in hockey.

Bowe, 37, has won two bronze medals at the Olympics. She won bronze in 2018 in the team pursuit, and bronze in 2022 in the 1000 meters for speedskating.
