It is rule-change proposal season in the NFL, and that usually involves teams trying to correct something that went against them during the previous season. It seems the Los Angeles Rams are going to be the team pushing for that this offseason.
According to a report from CBS Sports on Saturday, the Rams are prepared to propose a series of rule changes this offseason that would have negated the bizarre two-point conversion play that helped swing their Week 16 overtime loss against the Seattle Seahawks.
There is no official wording on what exactly the Rams are going to propose, but given the nature of the play, it could involve anything from advancing a fumble on a two-point play to the amount of time that passes before a play can be reviewed.
With the Seahawks trailing 30-22 in the final minutes, they scored a touchdown and went for a game-tying two-point conversion. Initially, it looked like an incomplete pass from quarterback Sam Darnold to running back Zach Charbonnet. The ball fell to the ground, the whistle blew, and Charbonnet then picked up the ball in the end zone to hand it to the referee.
"Is this the craziest 2-point conversion EVER?"

After both teams lined up for the ensuing kickoff, a replay review was finally initiated. Upon that review, it was determined that Darnold's pass was actually a lateral with a clear recovery by Charbonnet in the end zone for a game-tying two-point conversion.
The Seahawks went on to win the game in overtime and earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. That not only gave them a bye week, but also home-field advantage, including for their NFC Championship Game rematch with the Rams.
There were a lot of things that went wrong for the Rams in that game, including the fact that they let a 16-point second-half lead slip away, and then missed their chance to win at the end of regulation and in overtime.
But there were also a lot of things for the Rams to be unhappy with regarding the process behind that replay overturn. That ranges from the fact that a whistle was blown on the play to the fact that both teams had already lined up for the kickoff before anybody thought to review it.
