Former Vikings WR Rondale Moore dies at 25

According to WLKY, former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore died at the age of 25 on Saturday.

"The coroner said an autopsy has been scheduled, but the cause of death is under investigation," the report stated.

Moore was found in a garage with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey.

Jeff Brohm, former coach at Purdue University, where Moore attended, released a statement about Moore's death.

"Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach," Brohm said. "The ultimate competitor that would never back down to any challenge. Rondale has a work ethic that was unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would come through in any situation. we all loved Rondale and we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family and we love him very much!!!"

Moore was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After a promising rookie season that demonstrated big-play ability, injuries began to mount in 2022. He dealt with hamstring issues and only appeared in eight games.

Before the start of the 2024 season, Moore was traded to the Atlanta Falcons but suffered a knee injury that ultimately prevented him from playing that season. He then signed a one-year deal with the Vikings in 2025, but suffered another season-ending knee injury.
