While most NFL teams struggle to find a starting quarterback, the San Francisco 49ers may have two.
They've committed to Brock Purdy with a long-term contract, but Mac Jones played well enough to be a starter elsewhere last season.
As such, given their long history of injuries, it makes sense that they don't want to part ways with the Alabama product, even if they already have a starter.
With that in mind, Niners GM John Lynch put the word out there that it will take a huge haul for them to even consider moving Jones, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
"He's really good for us and we value that. And so somebody would have to come with something fairly strong for us to consider (trading him)," Wagoner reported. "And then I don't know what we do. Obviously there's always something that would make you (do it), but I think we're a better team with him on it and we just like having him around."
Jones played in 11 games last season, making eight starts. Per Football Reference, he completed 69.6 percent of his passes for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns and six picks, averaging 195.5 yards per game.
He's clearly taken a big leap under Kyle Shanahan's tutelage. The league has seen reclamation projects like Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold go from rags to riches, and Jones might be next in line.
There aren't many quarterback options available in the offseason, and due to the laws and supply and demand, whoever wants Jones will have to sell the farm to get him.
